Treasure Tuesday

I read a lot of food blogs (Kath, Tina, Caitlin, Meghann, Quinn, Jenna, Emily) and love them. But I knew I didn’t want my blog to be focused solely on food (I’m not sure I have the dedication it takes to photograph every meal for the whole world to see). Instead, I figured I’d do reviews of products, restaurants, recipes, etc., which I will now call Treasure Tuesday!

I came home from work yesterday and felt awful – I was exhausted. I think the three days of little sleep combined with unhealthy food and alcohol had caught up with me. So I passed out. For almost two hours. Which meant I totally stood up Mandi for our abs class. I sucked. I also woke up hungry – at 9pm. Being gone all weekend meant there wasn’t much in the house, so I had to make do with what I had – and it needed to be fast!

A package of Buitoni’s Wild Mushroom Agnolotti had been sitting in my freezer for a while so I decided to put it to use. After boiling some water, adding in the pasta with a bit of EVOO, and letting it cook for about 5 minutes, it was ready to consume.

And wow, it was SO GOOD. It didn’t even need any sauce. The blend of mushrooms and cheese was bursting with flavor, and the pasta was perfectly tender. The 9oz. package was enough for both dinner last night and lunch today (meaning I’m counting down the minutes until it’s time to eat).

Another yummy find was my mid-morning snack. As usual, my stomach started growling around 10:30. Luckily I’d packed a treat that I couldn’t wait to dig into – Bear Naked’s Pure & Natural Grain-Ola Bar in Chocolaty Cherry. Fabulous! Soft and chewy with slivers of almond for added crunch and pieces of dried cherry made this a winner – not to mention the hint of chocolate flavor! At 230 cals it’s an indulgent snack, but well worth it – at 12:00 I’m sitting here still satisfied!

  1. ooo i’m lovin treasure tuesday! and buitoni of course…have you had the whole wheat three (four?) cheese ravioli? if not, give that one a try! yumm.
