About Me

I currently live in Baltimore, MD with my wonderful fiance, Mike, who’s known me since I was 15. This means he knew me in all my awkward glory and loves me just the same – how lucky am I? When I’m not being a goof with him I’m spending time with my equally wonderful girlfriends (you know who you are) – whether we’re celebrating a success or crying on each other’s shoulders when things aren’t going how we planned, we’re always there for each other. I’m so lucky to have maintained lasting friendships from college and found new ones in this post-graduate life I’ve made. Not to mention my awesome family – I am truly fortunate.

What do I do to support my wonderful life? I’m an editor, and do freelance when I can, and I love what I do. I was hesitant to unveil my profession, not so much because of what happened to dooce (her experience scared me enough to leave out certain details) but more because of what I do. I’m afraid that once the word “editor” or “writer” leaves my mouth my writing will be held to a higher standard (which I can understand). While this blog is an outlet for my thoughts and feelings on having cystic fibrosis, it’s also a place I’ve created to allow myself to start writing creatively again. I’ve missed it. And I’m probably a little rusty. It’s been quite a while since I put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), so I’m allowing myself to remove the pressure of perfection. Hopefully From A to Pink will help me improve my writing and editing skills. After all, we’re our own harshest critics, right?

And now for some randomness – a few of my favorite things:

breakfast for dinner
Hogue Riesling & Ménage à Trois Red
sushi (especially shrimp tempura, spicy tuna and california rolls)
Justin Timberlake
giving and receiving snail mail – I could spend
days in a Hallmark store
traveling to Europe
living in the city
buying books faster than I can read them
attempting to cook
pineapple & watermelon
spending hours in Barnes & Noble
gchat

Paris, France
coffee
trying new food/restaurants
getting dressed up
the beach
discovering new music (such as Matt Wertz and Toby Lightman)
pink (duh)
color-coding my calendar

This page is a work in progress, so keep checking back! And thanks for joining me in this venture :)

Kat – just found your blog through Caitlin’s and did a double take when I saw your picture. We were DG’s together at Denison!! I think you were two or three years younger than me, and I was Holcombe at the time. How cool that we both have food blogs!! Looking forward to reading more :)

    Hi Kat!

I just checked out your blog from Caitlin’s nomination and it am super pumped to read more about your life and how you live to the fullest with CF. I had a co worker with CF who has had a double lung transplant so I’m pretty familiar with the disease. Thanks for sharing your story with the world.
